The Bruker Autoflex maX MALDI instrument provides quick and easy analysis of samples. Although the instrument is capable of analyzing a wide molecular weight range of molecules, the sweet spot is for this instrument is from 500-6000 mw. This is the perfect range for most peptides and for peptide mass fingerprinting. Also, MALDI is great way to monitor synthetic reactions of larger molecules. It is well established that suppression effects are present in both ESI and MALDI but MALDI is proven to be less susceptible to suppression.
